If…you could do anything over again in your life, what would it be?
I’d get good at math and choose an actual profession.
“rich but ugly” or “ugly but rich” + reason why :)
It’s the same!!!

My internal dream machine is going wild.
Dream: They killed you too?
I walked up a grassy hill and arrived at a small playground just in front of an old wooden house. It was the only house for miles around and it reminded me of the zinc-roofed house I used to live in. The playground had an old swing and sandbox, just like they used to have in the 80s and 90s. I walked over, and found two young girls playing there. One looked to be only about 5 years old, and the other, maybe 8.
The younger one came up to me and started talking. I can’t remember what we said but we eventually fell into an awkward silence.
Then the girl asked, “So they killed you too?”
I said “No”. We both turned towards the older child. Then the young one said, “She was born deaf and dumb.”
The 8 year-old looked at me sadly, and started spoke, talking about her life.
I woke up after that.

Here’s another.
Dream: Making Deposits with Me
“I’m at home packing stuff, doing spring cleaning and all, and suddenly there are people at the door. Naturally, I open the door and see a long line of people waiting to see me. One by one, without saying much, they hand me small packages and bunches of keys. I accept each box (I don’t know why), all the while asking them why they’re doing this. Finally the last person at the end of the line has his turn. It’s a friend that I know, and he hands me his small boxes and on top of a stack of packages are his keys as well. I joke with him saying I’m not handing his car keys back to him, but he gives me that sad smile and walks away. I get the feeling that these people weren’t doing this voluntarily, but they were expecting to get these items back.”
Background: NONE. Nothing in the dream made sense. Really.

Another dream I’d like interpreted.
Dream: Chasing ghosts with an Officer’s Sword
“My sis and I are back at our old place. My sis comes into the room and tells me that there’s someone strange, someone unwelcome outside. It’s not human. My first instinct is to grab my Officer’s Sword, and I run to the room that my sis is talking about. For some reason that gives me just a little bit of confidence. By the time I get there, all is fine and nothing happens.”
Background
I do have a sword, from my NS days. But I certainly don’t draw it to chase ghosts.

Alright, time to start posting my strange dreams. Don’t get excited because they’re not wet ones. Feel free to interpret them as you see fit.
Dream: My Weapon Gets Jammed
What happens:
“I’m in a confrontation with someone and I’m apparently in my old uniform from when I was doing security work. It becomes obvious to me that the person I am speaking to isn’t a decent character. The confrontation turns aggressive and I feel the build-up of fear and anger. In the midst of it all, with the suspect moving towards me, I draw my firearm. My weapon looks to be a semi-automatic, the kind you load with a magazine and pull back the slide to chamber a round. So I take aim, pull the trigger, and *click*. Nothing happens. I don’t know why. I unload, reload, ready the weapon and pull the trigger. It fails to fire. Then both the suspect and I stand there trying to figure out what went wrong. At this point, the tension disappears while I try and get the damn gun working.”
Background:
I used to do security work for a primary company, sometimes armed and in uniform, other times not. So yes, I know exactly how to work a pistol.
Validation
I ‘tweeted’ this afternoon that I was glad my knowledge is still relevant and my thought process is sound. This was after we went through the legal issues for the service deliverables and I managed to draft the process needed to meet the legal requirements.
I have to admit that this was a simple exercise and I had some knowledge on the matter at hand, but I did create the rest of the process on my own. And guess what? The process passed the fundamental test. No one found a serious flaw. I know I’m bragging a little but it’s on these small occasions that I’m glad that I have a habit of analysing things a little too much, and trying to explain how stuff works.
And looking at some of the people in my cohort today, I would say that’s a good skill to have in the long term. And to those of you who in the past have said I’m thinking too much, screw you. Taking the time to understand the mechanics of things does pay off.
